Privacy and looks

PIN and fingerprint lock A 4 digit PIN backed by fingerprint. Locks itself when you put the phone down.
Screens are masked When the lock is on, screenshots are blocked and the app preview is hidden.
Name and icon can change The app name can become Calendar, Notes, or Reminder so it blends in.
Backup and phone moves Export a backup file from Settings and import it on your new phone.

Installing, in seven steps

Save the APK file

Press the download button on this page. The Kalid file lands in your Downloads folder.
Open the file

Open the Files app, then tap the file named kalid.
Allow it if a warning shows

Your phone may ask about unknown sources. Choose allow for WhatsApp or Files. This is normal for apps outside the Play Store.
Install and open

Wait a moment until it finishes, then open Kalid from your home screen.
Log your first period

Press the big Log Period button. Done, that was one tap.
Set the name and icon

In Settings, change the app name and icon to your liking, then pin it to your home screen.
Turn on reminders

In Settings, switch on the period and pill reminders so nothing slips.

For Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO phones

Turn off battery saving for Kalid at least one day after installing. How: open your phone Settings, pick Apps, pick Kalid, then pick Battery saver and switch it to No restrictions. Without this, reminders can arrive late.

Common questions

Does the data really stay on the phone?

Yes. The app does not request internet permission at all. Without that permission, Android gives the data no route out, so it stays on your phone.

Is Kalid free?

Completely free. No subscriptions and no in-app purchases.

Are there ads?

None. No ads, no trackers, and no third parties inside the app.

Does it work on iPhone?

No. Kalid is an APK file and only runs on Android 7 and up.

Is it safe on a shared phone?

Yes. Turn on the PIN and fingerprint lock in Settings. When the lock is on, screenshots are blocked and the app preview in recents is masked.

What if I forget the PIN?

The PIN cannot be recovered because nothing stores it, not even the developer. If you forget it, reinstall the app and restore your records from a backup file.

How do I move to a new phone?

On the old phone, open Settings and export a backup file. Move the file to the new phone, install Kalid, then import it.

Is this a contraceptive?

No. Period, fertile window, and ovulation predictions are just arithmetic from your records. Not birth control and not a diagnosis.
